The Wattle Tree

The Wattle Tree

I painted The Wattle Tree for a family who live in South Gippsland and have an incredible wattle tree in their garden. They asked me to paint this tree for them because it represents the joy, love and memories they have shared in their home by the sea.

It reminds them of picnics, barbecues and kids climbing all over its branches. Celebrating their love of the sea, each other, nature and the goodness life can bring. This family has a passion for their purpose and have loved every aspect of the life they’ve created.
Since painting this piece, I have been inundated with people connecting to it.

I still have people from all walks of life, around Australia, telling me how much they love this painting and what it means to them. Overseas travellers have fallen in love with Australia, visited the studio and connected to this painting.

I think this piece represents a unique look into our Australian culture. So many of us have experienced life by the sea and a wattle tree in the backyard. It reminds us of family, life and our free spirits.
