My works are symbolic, emotional and tell stories of life through nature, our greatest teacher.
Fiona Kennedy's large canvas oil paintings and small run Limited Edition Prints have been described as ‘Art from the Heart’. Over 20 years, Fiona has developed a unique style and personal language of symbols and metaphors that explore her life experiences and connection to nature. Working predominantly with oil paint on canvas, her reflections on the human condition span across topics including identity, happiness, love, loss and family.
Fiona’s work has gained international and local recognition, with paintings being commissioned and sought after by private collectors around the world. In 2020, she released her first book, ‘LIFE Through the Heart of Fiona Kennedy’, which documented her collection of work to date and told the personal stories behind each painting.
“I didn’t speak until I was six years old. Not because I couldn’t, but because I was shy. I didn’t know what to say. Instead, I listened, observed, and found other ways to express myself. That’s how I found art. My work is deeply personal, shaped by nature, memory, and emotion. My father, an artist at heart, was my first creative influence. I grew up watching him paint, absorbing the way he saw the world. And over the years, art became my own way of making sense of it. Now, my pieces live in homes and galleries around the world, each one carrying its own unique story.”
Fiona’s Art Gallery & Studio is open to the public in Inverloch, on the South Gippsland coast of Victoria, Australia. Here, you’ll find Fiona working on her large scale artworks surrounded by a beautiful bushy, sea air landscape. You’ll be welcomed with a smile and a 'please feel free to wander' and will leave feeling like you have found an old friend.
