The Boab Tree

The Boab Tree

It was an absolute delight to create this painting for a couple who truly celebrate life and each other. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to create The Boab Tree for them.

A gentle, calming landscape connects the land, sea, and sky. The Boab Tree is a celebration of life and our deep connection to nature. Creatures gather in a sparkling gilded spiral, creating a positive golden energy that flows through the scene.

Life is filled with so many reflections. If you pause long enough, you will find them right in front of you. From a daisy growing through a crack in the concrete to a Boab Tree standing tall in a rich, sandy landscape under a night sky filled with a zillion stars, nature reveals everything we need to learn in life.

Dragonflies symbolise diligence, adaptability, and the ability to see through illusion. Able to thrive both on land and in water, these creatures carry a powerful energy and iridescence that remind us to be open to change, to look beyond doubt and deception, and to seek our truth.

Butterflies, for me personally, are a constant reminder to stay brave and trust that even through darkness, we can transform and grow the wings we need to fly.

Flying fish represent our emotions and passion for life. They remind us that we have a choice—to swim in the shallows or to dive deeper into the ocean, discovering more about ourselves along the way.

Turtles spiral through the painting, sharing their wisdom in finding happiness. Slowing down and embracing moments of gratitude is one of the most important things we can do for our mental well-being.

Frogs soar, sea dragons swim, and galahs call out in joy, each creature bringing life and vibrancy to the landscape.

I have always seen kookaburras as symbols of family and strong friendship bonds. They look after one another and support their family members throughout their lifetime, a reflection of loyalty and connection.

The Boab Tree is an incredible natural resource for many Indigenous communities and those living on the land. Every aspect of the tree is used for survival. Its water, nuts, bark, and the hollow trunks that provide shelter. It also serves as a natural ecosystem, offering refuge to bush babies, native bees, moths, lizards, and nesting birds.

A symbol of resilience, life, and the interconnectedness of nature, The Boab Tree is a reminder that we are all connected through the natural world. We are merely caretakers of this land during our lifetime – so tread gently.
