"Outside the French doors of my bedroom, I watch in wonder at the magic of the Midnight Tree. Filled with life and amazement, I gaze at the blossoms that glow beneath the Milky Way sea. A sight to behold, and only mine – I will treasure this moment until I’m gone. A blessed country upbringing, and memories from years ago, The Midnight Tree will live on in my heart, and I will never let go."
I wrote these words after meeting a woman who told me a story of her childhood in the country. "A blessed life," she said. I couldn’t help but envisage The Midnight Tree – a wonderland of beauty and all the connections she had made over her lifetime.
Filled with new life, abundance, connection, and stories, The Midnight Tree represents the intricate web of relationships that shape us.
Each creature living in its natural habitat symbolises family, love, connection, perspective, and friendship. You will find ladybugs, dragonflies, crimson rosellas, black yellow-tailed cockatoos, butterflies, lorikeets, eagles, kookaburras, possums, and frogs all coexisting in harmony.
Our lives are entwined with countless connections – family, children, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues – all playing a role in our learning and growth. Sometimes, stepping away from these connections to find a moment of clarity helps us gain a greater perspective on just how much they have shaped us.
Whether good or bad, every interaction teaches us something about ourselves. By reflecting on these lessons, we can reconnect with a deeper sense of understanding, become more open, love more freely, and share our wisdom. Life is here to be lived, to love, to gain knowledge, and to expand our perspectives.
The Midnight Tree is a vibrant, colourful display of flowering gum blossoms in full bloom on a summer night beneath a sparkling Milky Way sky. It is a vision of joy, inviting all who stand before it to connect with their own story and share the lessons they have learned so far.
